Missing a LEGO piece? Look no further

LEGOs are one of those toys that kids have been playing with for generations and will likely continue to play with for generations after I’m put out to pasture, hopefully on some Caribbean isle.

But they’re like putting together mini pieces of IKEA furniture. It always seems like one piece is missing, or things just don’t quite fit.

When you build a LEGO creation by the book, there’s a sense of accomplishment, but also a slight tinge of disappointment.

You’ve built something, but you’ve built something to spec. You’ve followed directions and you managed to do so in a way that allowed you to complete a task how it was designed to be completed through thousands of hours of rigorous testing, engineering, and design.

In a sense it’s yours…but in a sense it’s not.

Many LEGO collectors are determined, however, to build items exactly as they should be, with not a piece out of place. And that’s where BrickLink comes in.

BrickLink is a network where you can buy and sell individual LEGO pieces.

And chances are…some of the ones you’ve been keeping in a box at your childhood home can be worth a fortune.

Collectors are willing to pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for just one LEGO piece that they need, especially if it was for a set that was limited issue or a couple decades old.

they never had this when i was a kid

These folks have essentially catalogued a piece-by-piece record of almost every single piece manufactured by LEGO, which is equally impressive and terrifying.

So whether you’re looking to complete a piece, or for that set your mom never bought you–BrickLink is the place for you.
